Saturday morning we were off to Italy - together with Tina and Lucas. Tina has fallen in love with Italy - just like us and she just happened to have a week off at just the right time :) So very early Saturday morning we met in the airport and took the plane to Zürich where we picked up a rental car. Per has already reserved just the right car - and you all know what kind of car that was..... but - it turned out we had quite a lot of luggage, so Per had to upgrade to a bigger car.... :) After having picked up the car we had a 6 hour drive ahead of us - with a 3 year old... but he actually did really well and we managed to have a couple of stops on the way - including a playground :) And then of course - we had to take a car-train through a mountain - scary and exciting at the same time for a 3 year old :) We arrived in Bolzano around 7pm - after a long drive, so decided to have dinner in the room as we were all a bit tired.... Bolzano was just a stop on the way to Cortina, so we only stayed for one night. We had next morning though to have a walk around Bolzano, and like last time - Bolzano is such a 'sweet' town and the weather was amazing! And then on to Cortina d'Ampezzo :)

This morning we left Cortina - a day early. Per's been on all the trips he wanted to so we thought we would make a day out of it and take a night in Bolzano. We had a beautiful drive and the weather - stunning! And Per really enjoyed passing all the slopes and the little towns he'd visited while skiing - it was fun. We drove over a couple of passes - and no screaming from me I might add.... and had tea at a mountain top somewhere.... and after 3 hours we were in Bolzano - just in time for lunch. And the weather was good enough for us to have lunch outside - in the sun, in the middle of Bolzano. We'd checked in to a wonderful hotel - as we both wanted a little bit of luxury. Miss our bath tub..... and the hotel in Cortina was quite basic... so it's good to have a mini-bar again and a big marble bathroom - ahhhhhhhhhhhh. And Bolzano is a nice town - lots of shops, good shops!! And lot's of bars and restaurant. |
G&PThis is our blog - we use this to keep track of what we've done and where we've been.... as we can't always remember :) Archives
