First of all we probably did it the wrong way around. We should have started with NY and then gone on to Boston and New England. Flying in from New England, where we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and then arrive in NY, with the noise and the 'ugly' buildings - it just didn't do it for me after New England...
And it wasn't because of the location as we were staying at the Waldorf Astoria, where Per had stayed when he was in NY years ago - right next to Fifth Avenue.
But I just couldn't find anything charming about this city - and I know everybody else loves NY..... NY is noisy, dirty and full of cars and people - sad and angry people - and I would rather go to Paris, Rome or Copenhagen - that's for sure. So I wasn't impressed and I didn't find 'the vibe' which everybody is talking about. But.... I do realise that having only 2 days in NY is probably not enough time to get to know the city :)
And.. on top of it all - and you all know Per.... He had researched for a long time to find the best steak house in NY - and we were both looking forward to having a great steak - and... it was such a disappointment... :(
